Welcome to the California Democratic Council!
CDC is the statewide umbrella organization for California's Democratic Clubs.
We provide training, resources and guidance for existing and new clubs.

CDC 2012 Endorsement Vote

The California Democratic Council (CDC) is holding its 2012 grassroots endorsement process from 8am Saturday, April 21 through 8pm Monday, April 23, 2012.

This will be an online voting process to maximize participation from across the state.  CDC will only be considering endorsements for Federal, State Senate and State Assembly candidates.

In order for clubs and county committees to participate, they must have their updated rosters and list of delegates submitted to CDC by March 31, 2012.

By default, every California Democratic club/county committee receives one (1) delegate to represent the club president/chair.

If a club/county committee wishes to have additional delegates, they must first fully affiliate with CDC.  Affiliation is free but requires an application and a copy of your voting members roster.

For more information about affiliating, please visit our website:  http://www.cdc-ca.org or contact: affiliate@cdc-ca.org.

Once affiliated, county committees will receive two (2) delegates for each Assembly District (new maps) whole or partially contained within their county.

In addition to the chair/president, fully affiliated clubs are entitled to one (1) additional vote for every ten (10) dues-paying members.

For example, if a club submits a roster of 85 members, the club is entitled to nine (9) delegates.  One for the chair + eight for the members (85/10=8).

To ensure your club is able to participate, please follow these instructions:

  1. Make sure you have your latest list of dues paying members (not your mailing list) available.
  2. Calculate the number of delegates your club is entitled to.
  3. Using our approved template (download here: http://tinyurl.com/75fuleo), email your latest roster to roster@cdc-ca.org by 5:00 PM on Monday, March 31, 2012.
  4. Be sure to indicate which members will represent your club as delegates. NOTE: All delegates MUST provide an email, address, phone number, and the three NEW districts (CD, SD, AD) they live in!
For any questions, please contact credentials@cdc-ca.org

All Federal, State Senate and State Assembly candidates wishing to be considered for endorsement should send their request to -email-.  You will then be contacted with the details/requirements for endorsement.

Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to your participation!

Taking it to the streets!
Lake County Stonewall Democratic Club recently did their civic duty by participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program.

Lake County Stonewall DC in Action.png

Here they are at the Clearlake Oaks Cal-Trans Yard ready to deploy and showing off their banner (free from CDC)!

This is exactly the type of activity our clubs should be involved in on a regular basis.  We need to be visible within the community, not only seen protesting or fighting against issues, but also helping the community.

CDC Archives
memorabilia.jpgSince CDC has been around since the early 1950s, we obviously have a lot of memorabilia.

To properly catalog it all and make sure it is safely preserved, CDC Controller (Steve Cummings) has taken on this task.

We want to thank Steve for this important role he's playing in making sense of the 50+ years of CDC memorabilia we've accumulated!
