 ii. Request for current balance report, up to date of meeting, to be submitted for each meeting (submitted by Greg Valterra)
d. Controller Steve Cummings
 i. Expenses greatly reduced from a lot to $25 per month
 ii. Picking up mail at office
 iii. All documents from closed office now in Steve’s garage
e. Trustee Nina Johnson
 i. nothing to report
f. Trustee Todd Fitch
 i. Henry Vandermeir announced Todd’s resignation
g. Communications Co-directors Dick Price and Sharon Kyle
 i. Television coverage – will get clips
 ii. Newspaper – Fresno Bee – good
 iii. Newspaper – LA Times
 iv. Will send out press release with CDC endoresments
 v. Newsletter submissions

2. Dr. Bill and David Sonneborn will write about Progressive presentation
h. Area VP Jery Lacayo
 i. Submitted resignation - effective immediately
i. Area VPSue Broidy – Vote Blue
j. Greg Valteirra – anticipate more participation by clubs who want to vote
k. Jay Jackman – anticipate all 20 clubs will affiliate in Santa Clara County

II. Old Business
a. Leadership training – next move north from Los Angeles
 i. Suggestion from Craig – bring in people from up north – Henry respond – Gary Shay, Jess Durfee (qualitiy trainers)
 ii. Director of Training - schedule individuals, etc.
b. New Voter Database
 i. Just voter registration data access – give clubs a tool to help them get to democrats in their area.
 ii. Working out details (motorconnect)
c. Regional Vice Presidents
 i. Want to get regional positions filled

III. New Business
a. Updated Constitution
 i. Will be posted w/in week by Heather
b. 2009 Convention
 i. discussion regarding location and process
 ii. Heather will send copy of convention prep document to all attendees
 iii. Greg, Dick, Sharon to discuss process to get information out about bidding, etc.
c. Awards Dinner
 i. Alan Cranston award – Jerry Brown need to clarify
 ii. Lifetime Achievement award – did not award
1. Eric Bauman puts on great dinner
2. Greg suggested Andrew Lachman runs
3. Hilary – suggested nominations and electronic vote of body to determine award honorees
d. San Diego
 i. Jess Durfee and Henry talked about how to get the clubs more involved or to affiliate with CDC?
1. will test add checkbox to county chartering process to “join” CDC – would allow clubs to automatically join CDC when they join
