CDC made the trek north to Humboldt County for a full day of leadership training.

Thanks to Humboldt County Democratic Party Chair Milt Boyd and all of the Humboldt activisits who made us feel so welcome.  Even though the crowd was a bit smaller than our usual training sessions, we felt it was a successful day and that it was important to provide the same training opportunities that the rest of the state receives.

Over 400 activists from across the state came together for the California Democratic Council and the San Diego County Democratic Party's joint Grassroots Democratic Convention held on September 26th in beautiful San Diego.



Our Grassroots Democratic Convention featured a full day of workshops, forums, and networking opportunities on Saturday.  There were morning, lunchtime, and afternoon plenary sessions where candidates and elected officials introduced themselves.  California State Attorney General (and possible gubernatorial candidate) Jerry Brown spoke during the morning session.

CDP Chairman John Burton and his new staff have been hard at work during their first 60 days!

At the E-Board meeting in Burlingame, Mollie Culver (Political Director) announced the launching of a new training program designed for candidates and campaigns.

The new "Learn to Win 2010" program is a two-day training session that will begin with its first workshop on August 22/23 in Ventura.

The comprehensive training included collaboration from a variety of experienced campaign workers, including CDC President Henry Vandermeir.

On June 28, 2009, activists and party leaders from San Luis Obispo and surrounding counties converged on Grover Beach to spend their Sunday in a day-long training consisting of a variety of political workshops.

Hosted by CDC and the San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party, the workshop featured training by prominent party leaders such as Eric C. Bauman, CDP Vice Chair and Chair, Los Angeles Democratic Party and Jess Durfee, Chair, San Diego Democratic Party and DNC member.
