Resolution in Favor of Precinct System

(approved by the California Democratic Council Statewide Convention in San Bernardino on June 19th, 2005)

Whereas our Democratic values can only prevail in the voting booth if we build a strong grassroots infrastructure for our Democratic Party, and

Whereas neighbor-to-neighbor, face-to-face contact has been proven to be an effective campaign tool, and

Whereas ordinary Democrats should be encouraged to participate in their Party, right in their own neighborhoods,

Therefore be it resolved that the CDC endorses establishing a network of Democratic Precinct Captains, and

Therefore be it further resolved that the CDC requests that the California Democratic Party commit resources, financial and otherwise, to the goal of establishing a network of Democratic Precinct Captains.
